Snow?!

It’s not often they get snow in the Atlanta area but I love this photo Chris sent me yesterday with all three of them wearing hats I knit!

I taught myself to knit and to crochet – it’s not hard if you find the right “beginner” book and YouTube videos help if you don’t understand something. They didn’t have all the videos when I taught myself but these days if I don’t understand something in a pattern or a stitch, I can usually find a video that lets me see a demonstration. Very helpful especially if you’re just starting out.

  1. The kids had a real treat and as a southern girl I appreciate how amazing it is to get the very rare snowfall. Even better when you have a handmade hat to keep your ears warm!

  2. Hi Mary! That looks like three people who adore you and they look pretty darn spiffy in those hats as well. You can’t help but smile when you see them, right?! ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. What a wonderful photo!!! And the fact they are all wearing your hand knitted hats makes it even more special. I love knitted hats but I have a love/hate relationship with knitting. I have been trying to get it right for years and it is a struggle. I’ve taken some classes but honestly You Tube has helped me more then anything. My problem is that if I make a mistake I do not know how to fix it if I have gone too far. I love the pattern that Mo is wearing! Is that one pretty simple? If so could you please let me know the name of the pattern. I might be able to handle that one. Also, how about sizing? I did teach myself to crochet years ago waaaaaay before the Internet and love doing that. But I like hats knitted rather than crocheted. Thanks for all your advice and help!!
