Home

I’m home and after relaxing Wednesday night with a glass of wine and a good book … unpacking, laundry, some prep for the termite tenting has been done. I’ve cuddled with Finn and knit but it doesn’t look like there’s going to be any sewing. I’ve got errands to run this afternoon and I’m taking time out for a massage too. Keith doesn’t get home until late tonight and I’m kind of sad because it’s his birthday. I know we’re adults but I hate when he’s gone on birthday’s and anniversaries and it happens more often than I’d like but since I get to stay home and sew rather than work, I try to be flexible and understanding about his schedule.

  1. I understand your sadness about not being able to celebrate your husband’s birthday. My late husband travelled all the time and even spent weeks away from me. I missed him so much. He died about the same time Paul McCarthey’s wife died and I read that they never spent one day apart. That made me even sadder. Hopefully you will spend much time in the future with him.

  2. Hi Mary! I’m sorry you don’t get to spend a major portion of today with Keith on his birthday. You’ll have to make up for it and celebrate for a while week or the whole month. We’ve been known to celebrate half-birthdays in our family, too. Just for fun. Glad you’re home safely – let the sewing commence. I can’t wait to see what you’ve got up your sleeve. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. We celebrate whenever. It is the occasion and sometimes date isn’t as important as the reason for the occasion. Keith is a great reason and you can make his birthday a Monday holiday on Saturday. If the government can move birthdays so can you!

  4. It’s always nice to get home and be able to relax a bit before that laundry/unpacking has to happen. Hopefully you will have a good weekend to enjoy celebrating with the birthday guy.

  5. When Birthdays’ come along , it seems I’ve had to do them on different days. It seemed that everyone was busy or something always came up, but at least they got celebrated. Today’s world is so different from when I was growing up. You got a lot done since you got home. How long does the tenting take for termites ? Be nice to see you get back to your quilting! take care!

  6. Happy you made it home safely. It’s nice to get away but even better coming home….at least for me it is. Once Keith retires you will most likely be able to spend all holidays together. Something to look forward to. Happy Belated Birthday to Keith!!
