Two more finishes

I can’t tell you how good it feels to be home and making progress with my quilting again! Both of these were tops I brought home from Maine, quilted and they’re now bound and will go back to Maine in September for donation.

I think this Strippie was pieced by Sharon

And this Sharon inspired HeartStrings quilt was pieced by Barbara.

The rest of the day I’ll work on more binding and I’ll get another top loaded on the longarm. Preliminary reports (from the realtor) of this morning’s inspection of the Big Canoe house sound favorable — we’ll wait to get the written report before we make a decision to go ahead with the purchase but it sounds like we might be heading back to GA in a couple weeks.

Several people have commented and I think they missed a part of my posts that said we are NOT moving to GA right away. We will continue to live in Tampa and visit Big Canoe when we can. Keith travels extensively for his job and that makes Tampa a much more practical primary home right now but with the kids being in GA, I’ll want to visit often!

  1. I really like the fun patterns on the train one. I’ve never really gotten into sewing, but I’ve seen some really fun fabrics that I like. I saw this interesting fabric once that was covered with cheeseburgers. I just wanted something made out of it, but I didn’t know what. Maybe one day, I will get into sewing. I like your blog!

  2. Love both of these quilts. Great fabrics.

Best wishes on your move. You like to keep things hoping in your life.

    Stay well, Kathy in WI

  3. The home is a place to spend time visiting the family and as a stopping point for visits with your mom. Although it is sort of out of the quickest path home any excuse to visit family is a good excuse.

  4. I love both of them! You output never ceases to amaze me! I got 12 blocks sewn today & I felt like I had really accomplished something… not so much! LOL!

  5. Maybe this isn’t really quilt related, but I wanted you to know how comforting your daily posts are. I’m an extreme introvert so just need occasional friend contact, but I’m really feeling the need for family and friends right now and your blog, especially the photos of your beautiful family are filling in some of that need. I look forward to them each morning. Thank you.

  6. So happy things are moving forward with your GA house. Both quilts are very nice but the heart strings quilt really stands out. Very pretty!!! I am having motivation issues. This virus pandemic is hard to cope with and seems to be occupying my mind right now. I think I will lock myself in my sewing room until I get something accomplished. Wish I could be as focused as you. Have fun sewing!!
