I do most of the cooking around here but if we have brunch, Keith fixes it and it was yummy this morning.
After eating, I went down to the sewing room to work. First up, I assembled the design wall, then I finished the blocks for the Jelly Roll Rail Fence quilt.
They’ll wait a bit for assembly since I’m making more masks for Chris and his co-workers. And since it seems we’ll be wearing them for a while, I’ll make a few more for us too. I finished 8 before calling it a day. It’s been a bit rainy but we think there’s a window to head out for a walk.
Your hubby knows how to put out a spread!
I really like your jelly roll quilt too – bright and cheerful with just enough white to tone the brights down a bit.

Hi Hedy, I used to teach quilting at my church in Florida and the Rail fence was the pattern I used for all my beginners. We did not use Jelly Rolls as when I started teaching they were not yet the pre-cut of choice. With 1 yard of 4 fabrics my students were able to make a nice lap size quilt. While making it they all learned how to use the rotary cutter, mat and ruler, consistent quarter inch seam and correct pressing. But the BEST part was they all completed their quilts! Every student finished down to hand sewing the binding. Most of these students continued classes with me for 7 more years! So Rail Fence is a Great pattern for beginners. Sew On Quilters.

Yum, brunch looks delicious!! Love your fence rail quilt too! That was the first one I ever made back in the 80s.
I’ve been making masks with elastic but think I’ll go with the ties for the next batch. Are you using bias strips or straight of grain?

Love how the rail fence turned out. I went to pull fabric and stopped when I looked at my unfinished projects. I pulled out a little boy log cabin quilt I started several years ago at a Thimbleberries retreat. I lost interest in finishing when I go home and then my tastes in fabric changed.
Well, thanks to your inspiration to get busy on a quick project, I finished the top and I’m pinning it today. Not what I planned to do but I’m happy with the choice. Thanks Mary! I love your blog. ❤️
