I can’t remember how many weeks we’ve been gone … 5? Maybe 6? But the mail has stacked up around here. The post office was supposed to forward the first two weeks of it but didn’t. I’m still trying to figure out what went wrong and if that two weeks is even included in this bin! After Keith, Rae, and Finn went to bed, I pulled out the most interesting 15 or so letters and started working my way through the mail. I’ve been able to keep up with my bills online so I’ll take my time going through it.
I also started going through some of my quilt books. It’s been a while since I browsed them but I decided I wanted to take some with me to GA. Since I’ve got mostly precuts and kits going, I decided to focus on precut books with few other interesting ones.
Keith’s office has a wall of shelves and he’s agreed to let me have some space.

It’s interesting to see what books interest others. I have both of those front books – on fat quarters and the Schnibbles book. I really need to thin out my quilting books again.
Looks like you won’t be bored! I have a few of those books too – lots of inspiration! I haven’t made too many of the quilts, but I’ve made quilts based on the designs in the books.
I did something similar when we came to Chicago to shelter with kids. I made kits with precuts and patterns for them, figuring that would be the most efficient way to keep myself occupied when not providing grandchild care. With two parents trying to work full-time from home, we’re feeling very necessary!
Happy you made it home safe and sound, and with a cute little extra passenger too. Looks like you will have a busy 5 weeks planning and packing for the next trip back to Big Canoe. I don’t have any of those books but a ton of others. I have sworn off buying books since I don’t seem to use them. In fact I’m not sure I have made any quilts from any of the books I have bought. Patterns are so easy to find for free on the Internet these days. And I won’t live long enough to even make a dent in the ones I already have. Have fun with Rae!!
When I saw what books you had pulled out, I thought “Hey… is that her house/book shelf or mine?”… LOL! I, too have sworn off buying quilting books, tho I do still like to check them out from our library for inspiration.
