Still on vacation?

I must still be on vacation. No sewing today. Keith took off a half day and we went up to Amicalola Falls State Park and hiked 4 miles … it about did me in. The humidity was high and the climbing was a challenge but it was a good afternoon.

  1. This brings back so many memories! My hubby and I did several day hikes on the AT around Springer Mountain. We have a picture under this arch! One of our favorite places.

  2. That looks like a great place for a hike!

  3. You sure are getting your exercise while there. That looks like a beautiful area to hike in.

  4. You have such beautiful scenery where you live! Our humidity has been very high as well. So high that when you first step outside it takes your breath away. Hooray to you that you were still able to get in a four mile hike!

  5. I have done those hikes that wear me out. My choice was a warm bath and then a light adult beverage or glass of wine. Curling up with a good book helps too. Paul and I also put the pictures we took on slideshow on the TV. Life is so good and I miss hiking.

  6. Hi Mary,
Amicalola Falls State Park is approximately 35 minutes from where I was raised in Ellijay, Ga. My parents took me there many times during my upbringing. In my earlier years, you could actually climb all the way up the sides of the falls to the top! No way would they permit that today. It is a wonderful area to visit and hike, just maybe not on such a humid day. Glad you are still up enjoying your vacation.
