Quilted

#3 of 10, a second top of Sue’s to be quilted and donated was loaded, quilted, and is trimmed and ready for binding. The pantograph, flower power, is a free one I found right after getting the new longarm but hadn’t used yet. Very simple but I like how it turned out on this quilt.

I pieced a batting for this one, loaded and quilted it, took it off the longarm, and I’ve got bindings machine stitched on the other two and ready to hand sew and it’s only 10:30 AM. That’s what happens when you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep!

  1. A very sweet little flower design in that quilting. Hope you get some sleep tonight. I’m glad that insomnia isn’t one of my problems usually. My husband suffers from it however and is up prowling in the middle of the night fairly often.

  2. I, too, have trouble staying asleep. If I wake during the night its dicey whether I fall back asleep or not.
If I can’t after a few minutes then I’m up & on the computer, or I’m reading. Can’t quilt that early as our bedroom is right next to the quilt room. I realized years ago that sometimes its just my subconscious making sure I get my “ME” time…especially important now that both of us are retired & together ALL the time. Luckily our daughter is about 35 minutes away & needs us about every couple of weeks to be at the house with our granddaughter for a day or two…so we take turns going down there. I’m sure hubby welcomes time away from ME, sometimes, too! : ) It keeps a 46 year marriage going well!

  3. That 9 patch square in a square makes an interesting block. I like the flower quilting with it.

  4. Have you seen a pattern for this quilt block? I have made several quilt tops but have always had a pattern. I don’t feel I have the experience to come up with the block myself. Thanks so much.

  5. I always think how lucky folks are to receive the quilts that you and others donate. Quilts are always such a wonderful gift and it’s even more heartwarming when given to someone in a time of need ❤
