My Nine Patch Hearts is finished. It’s binding #5 so I still have one here waiting. Mom and I made this one together … or rather, we made two of these – one for her and one for me. Mine was intended for donation and she thought she’d probably end up gifting hers. I have some brief instructions on my website and while I’m still waffling about keeping it, for now that’s the way I’m leaning.

Quilt #7 of 10 is loaded and in progress. It’s a big one – 70 x 94 so I’m not sure I’ll finish it before I have to head down to fix dinner but if not, I’ll try to come back and quilt tonight. I’m not sleeping well so I’ve been trying to get back into the sewing room after Keith goes to bed. Last night I worked between 12 and 2 am and finished all my HeartStrings blocks. They’ll be ready to assemble after I square the rest of them up.
Congrats on your finish, Mary! Sorry to hear you’re not sleeping well. SEW frustrating!
I love this quilt – I’ll go check out your *brief* instructions 🙂
this is a beautiful heatrwarming quilt…looks vintage–which i really like a lot…

These relatively simple designs just look amazing when done scrappy. Wonderful finish.
Hi Mary! This sure turned out pretty. I love all the nine-patches balanced with the hearts. It would be a hard quilt to let go of, but then we can’t keep them all, can we?! Maybe you can enjoy the heck out of it for a while and then donate it. I’m sorry you aren’t sleeping well. I’m not either but I’m nowhere as productive as you. ~smile~ Roseanne
Congrats on a beautiful finish! I love it. I’m going to put it on my to-do list. Thank you for the instructions and inspiration.
It’s a keeper!. Hope you sleep better. Being productive is great, but so is sleep. Listen to the lady who has been sleeping about four hours a night telling you about sleeping.
It’s lovely! You’ve sure been productive! For the first time in my life, I’m not sleeping well, either. I started taking melatonin and am sleeping much better.
Oh my. I love this quilt. And it’s all the more special because it was a project with your mom. 🙂
I know you used an Accuquilt die for the hearts. I have an Accuquilt question. Have you ever made a square in square quilt block with Accuquilt? I like the simplicity of that block, but even though it’s a simple block, mine often end up slightly wonky. Just thought I’d see if you’ve ever used dies to make this block, and if so, do you recall which die you used?
Thanks! Love your site and your patterns. 🙂
I would definitely keep that one. Just love it!!
I love this quilt, and have always wanted to make one, the colors in yours just pops, I’m thinking mine might be red white and blue. Love seeing the pictures of Chesty today, pictures of him and Finn always make me smile! I’m glad you blog, always enjoy reading about your famliy, projects and travels, thank you for sharing it all with us.
The colors in the Nine-patch are just beautiful! What a lucky person the recipient(s) will be!
