I’m getting a really late start today but before I head into the sewing room I wanted to post this idea here so I can find it later! I love looking at vintage quilts on eBay and saw this one a few months ago.
I can see doing it a couple ways – scrappy, using wide sashing with 4 patch cornerstones or changing the sashing into frames for the blocks … I quickly drafted it in RWB just to get an idea of how it would look and one of these days, I’ll make a scrappy version of one of them I think!
Two color quilts always seem to be so elegant. It’s interesting how the sashing changes the look completely in your RWB version.
I like your three colors. If I stayed with two I might have to change the four patch to a nine fir balance.
That is a pretty quilt and looks like it would be pretty easy too. I keep saying I want to make a scrappy red and white quilt but have yet to do it. Might be because I have NO red in my house but I do think they are so pretty. The red, white and blue would also be nice.
