As if my sewing room wasn’t enough of a mess, I decided it was time to start some Strips and Strings log cabin blocks. I have bins with strips and strings … bins with chunks…

Bins with crumbs … this one used to sit under my sewing machine for those pieces too small for the string bin and I’ve always used them for the first few rounds of these log cabin blocks. I think I need to put it back under there, I’ve been tossing everything in one bin by the cutting table.

I have some red centers ready and I’ve already made a start on the first group of blocks.

I just love how I can create something like this from this mess of leftovers! This was the last one I finished in 2019 so it’s been a while.

You have such great color sense that you turn the scraps into beautifully coordinated quilts!
String quilts can really make a mess during the construction phase, but they are SEW worth the effort!
Such a beautiful quilt from a bunch of scraps!
Are your strings all the same width? You make wonderful quilts!
