I have tried to keep my head down and just hold out for January 20 but I can no longer sit here in silence. I have nothing but contempt for Trump and the supporters that know what he is doing is wrong and still refuse to stand up to him. He lost. False claims of fraud which of course only occurred in states he lost and the inciting of violence. This is NOT what my country stands for and the actions today of Trump supporters, storming our capital will not change the outcome of our election. Thankfully, our system does work. I will delete any comments supporting the actions of today. If you find that objectionable and never want to visit my blog again, I’m OK with that.
Thank you for taking a stand for what is right, good and true. As much as the events of January 6th and the many things that led up to it have deeply disturbed me, there is something I find even more disturbing and frightening. Albert Einstein said, “All it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to stand by and do nothing.” The number of people and institutions who have a voice but are choosing to remain silent out of fear of offending someone, possibly loosing a patron, client, a supporter, a customer, a blog reader hurts my heart, mind and spirit. Thank you again for taking a stand and speaking into this hard place.
Thanks for taking a stand. I have disagreed with much of what 45 has done. I’ve voted in each election over many years. I must contact my representative who evidently drank the Kool Aid with the miserable Representatives who bought the whole rigged election. It’s going to be a tough year again.
All of my years of life (83) I was taught that everyone had a right to their own opinions—-BUT DO NO HARM. Some people have not learned that—there is too much “I want things the way I want them and I want them now! With no regards of others feelings OR the penalty they may have to pay. Nor regards to the harm caused to there family and future.
I’m sorry you feel that way. I feel like this is the wrong place to air that, have the right to your feelings, as do I. I’ll miss you.

Mary, I have been reading your blog for some time now and have never been prouder of a fellow quilter. These are the saddest time in America’s history. When I look back at the 2016 election and think how Hillary Clinton’s character was smeared by this man and his family it was only the beginning. He told us then who he was and millions followed him!! They couldn’t vote for a STRONG WOMAN and now I am praying that another STRONG WOMAN will take him down – PELOSI!

It is so sad and where I live everyone expects me to tell them why America has turned out this way. I don’t know and it just makes me cry. I am praying that the new president will get the country pulling together again.
Thank you for your post. I could not agree more and appreciate you drawing a line in the sand. I kept waiting for things to get better– until the election. No. Until the states certify their elections. No. on and on and on. I thought Jan 6 would be the last time DT would cause trouble. Nope. I’m afraid that things won’t settle down even after next Tuesday.
