There was a time …

There was a time that I could put my hands on any book with any pattern I’d seen. Tonight I was looking for this quilt … I thought it was from a Sandy Bonsib book. I don’t have the year I made it logged but I can tell from the photo it was taken in Marietta so it had to be between 2002 and 2006. I’m pretty sure Mom made a green version too. Moving so often has turned into kind of a blessing in that I can remember things based on where we were living at a specific time that I otherwise might not be able to pin down.

I have a bunch of pink fabrics pulled and I want to make a heart quilt so I think I’d like to remake this one and I went looking for the book I thought it might be in. No success … but in looking through my books, I found a bunch that I hadn’t looked at in a while that I want to page through ….

I can remake the quilt without the pattern but it would have been nice to have the heart template!

  1. What a lovely quilt! Perfect for Valentines Day! Love the pink! I can’t wait to see the next one!

  2. I’m sure with your expertise you’ll be able to cut out your own heart for a template – on paper of course haha. Nice looking quilt.

  3. That was such a sweet pink heart quilt. It really is fun to go through the books again. As I purged my quilting books this winter I had some fun looking through them again for inspiration.

  4. Mary, I am intrigued by the basket “thingee” in front of your fireplace (I don’t know what to call it lol). Is it a faux fireplace? Does it put out any heat? I love it and I have never seen anything like it! Hope I don’t sound too nosy and this is not a quilt question so of course I understand if you don’t want to answer.

  5. I am going through my old magazines and I saw this just a few days ago. But don’t ask me which one! This is such a cute quilt.

  6. Really cute heart quilt, hope you can find the pattern! My husband and I have also moved a lot and we also remember things by what house we lived in at the time. We have moved 11 times in 37 years and thinking about doing it again.
