Boring?

I love settling into my routine here at Big Canoe. I’m up late so I sleep late. On nice days I get out for a hike – today I did another 4 miles to the waterfall and back. It’s so green that it looks like spring is on its way.

I come home and sew for several hours. I love how this scrappy hourglass quilt is turning out.

I go upstairs for Happy Hour with Keith and while I’m cooking dinner, I step out on the deck to check out the sunset. Tonight we had Greek Chicken Rice Bowls and it was yummy!

Keith and I spend the evening together and when he heads to bed, I pull out my knitting or crochet. That’s my idea of a perfect day!

  1. What a beautiful place to take a walk, by a babbling brook, and looks like your home is facing the right way for those sunsets 🙂

  2. It does sound like a perfect day. I must admit I am a bit envious of your greenery and nice weather. Spring won’t arrive here until probably May and today it is -40C and lower so didn’t even step outside. We do have amazing summers though.

  3. Why is this titled boring? You get physical activity, you get mental activity and feed your creative spirit and you spend time on your marriage which supports you emotionally. Sounds like a full day. Boring not so.much. Always something different on the walk. Creating new quilts, hats, blankets and even masks makes your brain create new connections and thus is different. Paul and I used to work with married couples in the church and one of the things that we talked about was that every person changes daily and if you don’t work with your spouse daily to make sure that you are heading in the same direction you could grow apart. Watching a sunset allows you share so much more than the colors of the sky. You talk about how life is going and the things you share and the things you do individually. A drink or not what you have is irreplaceable time together.

  4. That does sound like a very good day! We have had some really cold temps here. I don’t even like it when I have to take the dog out. I was able to fit in some sewing yesterday too and it felt so good.
