Remember these scraps? I’d pulled them and packed them up to play with here in GA.

I’ve made the first top from them and I’m thrilled with how they all played together so well. I love scrap quilts. This is a simple 6 inch finished hourglass block from quarter square triangles. There will be no border and the quilt measures 54 x 72 which is my favorite size for donation.

I cut enough squares for a second HST quilt but I won’t get started on that one just yet. I not sure how many quilts I thought I could get from that group of fabric but the two I’ve cut haven’t made much of a difference so there will be more to come.
Mary, I recognize some of my scraps in your cluster of pieces. I like your hourglass quilt. As I was looking at it I realized how easy it would be to arrange some of the blocks of the same or almost same colours into stars in a few spots in the top. funny what you see when you stop and look.

That’s the nice thing about working with complementary colors! I love the hourglass quilt.
Miss. Mary
When you talk about using your accuquilt could you tell us what number the die is.
Thank You
Janice
I love all of the rich colors of nature, but adding that little bit of blue adds a lot of energy into the quilt and makes the other colors shine.
You made quick work of that quilt top, Mary! It will be interesting to see just how far those scraps will stretch. :o))
Mary, I LOVE this quilt! It looks like the cream colored fabric is all the same, is it? It just sparkles! Thanks for the inspiration!
Fabulous!
Beautiful!
Wow–as I was scrolling down, I thought I was seeing a computer mock-up. That’s how perfect those hourglass blocks appear to be on your design wall!
This is a really pretty quilt. I think you might be able to do different designs too. Your fabrics go together so well, they make a very rich looking quilt.
Beautiful quilt and colors. My kind of colors.
All of those warm cozy autumn colors – looks great.
