Finished

I made progress today – the linen stitch blanket is finished and ends are woven in.

  • Chained 140
  • Hook size (I)
  • Yarn is Lions Brand Mandala Ombré – colorway Happy – 4 skeins used
  • Linen stitch pattern is from a kit but you find find a similar one online at this link.

I also finished up the doll quilt and the shamrock coaster set. More masks were sewn – 9 just need ties or elastic now but I have another 8 to sew I think and then I’ll be able to get back to the problem quilt.

  1. Sounds like enough activity to clear your mind of problems so the return will have a fresh start feeling. Love the bright and cheerful linen stitch blanket.

  2. The blanket is a sweet finish Mary. There is always something on the horizon. A quilting friend has dropped off 120 61/2 inch (sort of)rail fence blocks to me. There are 20 of each of the rainbow colours. Now how can I put them together.? Thinking.

  3. Love, love, love the Afghan. Can you share info on size needle, kind and amount of yarn you used? Also how many stitches you cast on. I love doing linen stitch.

  4. The linen stitch blanket is fabulous!! I think I said before that it made me think of a pinata. Or maybe fiesta ware plates. Such happy colors!

  5. Love this one, so bright and cheeful! I’ve come to love linen stitch. I made a few dishcloths with it, just recently made a scarf with it, but ripped it out because it was to wide and short. Will remake it longer and narrower. Have to fit that in around a year long applique course with Jeana Kimball…and work and life. Looking forward to retiring in a couple of years so I can focus on the important stuff!

  6. Beautiful blanket almost makes me want to try crochet again. For some reason I always feel awkward so stick to my knitting.
Love the colours so cheerful and welcoming

  7. I did break down and buy some Ombre yarn for 2 blankets. This is one of the colors that I got. I wonder if they plan to make other colors. It seems like they have had only one set of colors in this yarn. I love how yours turned out. Linen stitch seems perfect for this yarn.
