Best Birthday EVER

Today I turn 60 and I was not looking forward to it – so what did Keith do to change that? Planned a trip to the beach and invited my boys. I can’t tell you the last time just the 4 of us had time alone together but it’s been YEARS.. It’s the best Birthday/Present EVER! I guess he really does know me after 32 years of marriage because nothing could have made me happier.

  1. Happy Birthday! Every birthday is a gift especially with such lovely people to spend it with. Have a banana split, it always makes me happy!

  2. Happy birthday! It’s one of the milestone birthdays that I didn’t mind so much as I was getting closer to retirement. But the 40th birthday? That one was HARD! So glad you were able to spend time with your children & husband, too. Hope its a fantastic day all the way around!

  5. Happy 60th. I think I really enjoyed my 60’s. More mature, more freedoms, more peace. Good health. It’s not a bad place to be Mary. After this past year, you are lucky to be here. And such a great day for your celebration. You look like a movie star with your smile and wind swept hair! That picture needs to be enlarged and framed.

  6. Yes, as the mother of three boys and a beach lover, I understand how that surprise could make this birthday the best ever!!!

  7. Happy Birthday!!! I’m glad you had a wonderful day!!! I turn 60 on the 22nd but it doesn’t bother me. We’re taking the whole family to Disney in October to celebrate our 60th birthdays…my husband turned 60 on 3/15.

  8. Happy birthday. Welcome to the 60+ club. What an awesome 🎁 from your husband. Enjoy it. You are a very active person and I am glad you share your life with us on this blog. Keep letting younger people know what getting older is really like.
I was lucky enough to be surrounded with 80 and 90 year old relatives as a child. Age was just a number. Keep moving or you will rust was a favorite expression of one person. One great aunt died one week before what would have been her 100th birthday and was physically and mentally affected only the last year of her life in a nursing home. I have a lot of active years to go yet. So do you.

  9. Happy Birthday! So wonderful you could spend time with your family. All the birthdays with a 0 decade attached to the first number have been the hardest for me. But my 60’s were good years! Enjoy!

  10. Happy Birthday! What a special gift . You have such a loving family. Congratulations. 60 is just a number.

  11. Happy Birthday Mary, happy to hear you had a great day! I remember when I turned 40 I was dreading it, and the day of my birthday I was sick with a stomach flu, my daughters were so excited for my birthday and they drew signs and pictures wishing me happy birthday and I was too sick to enjoy the day, I often wonder where those 25 years went.
Earlier this year I turned 65 but because of covid we couldn’t do anything or go anywhere to celebrate, we had planned on taking a trip for my 65th, and because of covid lock downs we couldn’t even have our daughters and son in-laws here, so it was a pretty quiet and somber day for me, but yes like the others said it is just a number and the other good thing is we are still here to enjoy another day and hopefully many more.

  12. Happy birthday. So glad family gettogethers are now safe. Enjoy your 60s. I sure have.

  13. Happy Birthday to you! Welcome to the club (I was 60 on 5/20). What a wonderful celebration Keith and the boys gave you.
