Quilted

The storm paused just long enough for me to finish quilting #4 of 10 for July.

This Framed 16 patch is rather busy so the quilting doesn’t show much but I chose one of my favorite pantographs – Happy Times – because it looks good on just about everything and because it had a lot of spots in the pattern to pause if needed since it’s the first time I’ve used the Pantovision since the move. Everything went fine with no problems and now all I have to do is keep quilting and get caught up!

I bought the Jelly Roll from BluPrint and since I loved the state fabric in it, I bought some yardage too! At 84 inches long, this one needed a little extra piece in the back so I pieced the red state colorway with the blue state one. Funny how this piece trimmed from one side of the quilt has 3 of 4 states I’ve lived in all next to each other (Florida, Georgia, and Minnesota – just Virginia is missing).

Looking at the fabric as I’m sitting here makes me think of all the places that my blog visitors live and how neat it is that blogging allows me to have contact with quilters all over the world from the comfort of my home. Thank you for stopping by to see me!

  1. Maybe everybody should comment where they live; let’s see who is the furthest away from you – so, greetings from England 🙂

  2. I may have to look into Pantovision for my older longarm. It’s now14+ years old, and no longer being made. Thankfully, I have been able to do all the maintenance on it. No one taught me anything, I just learned by trial and error. Mostly ERROR initially, but I learned from all of my mistakes.

  3. Great finish! I bought the same state fabric (both red and blue background) from BluPrint. I used it for QOV backings.

  4. I love your blog! It is always a inspiration for me. Sunny greetings from Elisabeth-Bavaria, Germany

  8. Hi from beautiful Colorado!
I bought that flag fabrics for QOV, too. I miss BluPrint…they had great sales.

  9. Hello Mary, I’ve enjoyed following your blog for several years now and have made several quilts using your quick strippie and boxed squares patterns. Greetings from rural Sundre, Alberta, Canada in the foothills of the Rockies.

  10. I still don’t really understand how pantographs work… I guess I’ll have to go to Youtube and watch someone quilt on their longarm machine.
