Quilted

Another one of Mom’s tops is quilted. Pantograph is Billowy.

I’m going to go up to VA for a short visit with Mom and I’ll take both quilts back to her then. We’re both vaccinated but with the COVID surge I’m being very careful and am going to keep pretty close to home for the next 10 days before I go, I won’t visit with the kids, I’ll stick to outdoor activities, avoid people where possible and wear a mask if I can’t. We did see the girls one last time before my VA visit last night. Pizza party while Chris and Becky got out for a bit.

Staying close to home is no hardship for me … I’ve got plenty of quilting to keep me occupied!

  1. I love her quilt, she made a really cute quilt. We are wearing masks now everywhere we go, better to be safe than sorry. I haven’t felt normal since I had COVID and pneumonia, I didn’t bounce back. But I’m grateful to be alive

  2. I love the Sunbonnet Sue quilt! I’ve been intending to make one for 30 years! I’ll get around to it one of these days.

  3. The Sunbonnet Sue quilt is very charming. My sister-in-law made one for my oldest daughter when she was born. Staying somewhat isolated has become the norm, and we are probably used to it by now.

  4. Your mom’s quilt turned out nicely, great job for both of you! I don’t have any problem staying at home, either. Quilting, reading, gardening, crafting, and some exercise thrown in for good measure…it keeps me busy enough! The more I stay at home…the more I want to stay at home!!!

  5. The sunbonnet Sue quilt is so cute, enjoy all the time you get to spend with your Mom, my Mom passed away 4 years ago, I miss her very much and wish we had more time to spend together, she had a good life and was almost 94 when she passed, but you always wish there was more time.
I sure wish Covid would disappear off the earth, it’s so hard and stressfull on everyone, and it would be so nice to get back to the way things were before Covid.
Oh by the way your grandchildren are so sweet! Enjoy them as often as you can. Take care and enjoy your trip!!

  6. Such a cute quilt!! I’m happy you are able to visit your mother and a good idea you are taking precautions. My daughter and her husband and my son came down with Covid last week after attending a concert…not the smartest move on their part. My daughter and husband had been vaccinated but my son is stubborn and refused to get it. My daughter and her husband or recovering but my son was admitted to ICU today. He has Covid pneumonia and his oxygen level is dangerously low. They are taking good care of him and I am sure he will recover eventually but it sure is scary and worrisome. And now he regrets very much not getting vaccinated. I just don’t understand why people don’t get vaccinated. My own sister and her family refuse to get it. I still am not sure what they are afraid of and I’m not sure they even know why. Stupidity is what I think!! Safe travels!!

  7. You’ve got quilting, knitting, and crochet to keep you busy while you steer clear of people prior to your trip. Here’s hoping you have a wonderful visit and safe travels, Mary! Yes, I know you’re not leaving yet, but my internet usage has been intermittent, at best, of late.

  8. Adorable quilt! I have a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt made with my Mom’s blocks, and I treasure it. Enjoy the visit with your Mom.
