Off my needles

This was a quick little beanie! The pattern calls for bulky weight yarn which I don’t use … and size 10 needles. I decided to try Aran weight yarn on size 9 needles and see how it went thinking I’d get a child size hat …. And I did. I’m going to remake this one with the same yarn and make the larger size next.

  • Pattern – Snow Day found free on Ravelry
  • Needle size – 9
  • Yarn – Paintbox Simply Aran
  • Cast on 64 stitches and knit the small size from the pattern.

  1. Thanks again for the link. I’ll knit this one with variegated wool. I knit all my hats with 2 strands of DK on 6.5 mm circular needles. I usually use one plain colour mixed with a co-ordinating variegated. I adjust any pattern to suit me. I sometimes use 2 strands of different colours and look forward to seeing how they turn out. I’m knitting a few for a homeless charity at the moment so I don’t think they’ll be too bothered about my yarn selection 🙂
