Progress

I’ve been working on my Strips and Strings Rail Fence blocks – this is the 8th quilt from my string bins this year and I’m kind of at the bottom of the barrel. Not necessarily in terms of the number of strips and strings left but more that they’ve been well picked over. I think I’m going to like it anyway.

And hat #30 has been finished. I substituted a K1P1 rib for the brim and forgot to change to a larger needle when starting the body of the hat. Also, there is an error in the crown decreases in the pattern – a K4, K2tog row was left out and I added that in.

I hope that all of you who celebrate Thanksgiving have a wonderful day. Keith and I will have a quiet one with just the two of us and I won’t be cooking a large meal so I’ll have time for more sewing.

I’ve had much to be thankful for in my life and I’m especially grateful for all my blessings this year.

  1. You and Keith have a wonderful and blessed day. Sometimes a quiet day is relaxing. We are hosting a small group with Covid, just my daughter and family and my sister and family. We see these two groups on a regular basis.

  2. I hope you’ll enjoy your peaceful day, Mary. Our family will all be together for the first time since Thanksgiving 2019. I’m pooped from making all the sides over the last few days, but so happy to see all my kids and all but one of my grands today. Grateful the two from Chicago and their families made it here to Cincinnati safely. Tomorrow, I’ll teach the daughters-in-law to make pillowcases. I’m pretty sure hilarity will be the main feature!

  3. Love both the quilt and the hat. Hope you and Keith have a great Thanksgiving and remember all you have to be thankful for and all you have done for others.

  4. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. It is all about family, food and thankful remembrance of the past year. I celebrated mine last Saturday so my son could be with his father’s family this year. Always a great time.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving!! We are also having a quiet one. After the last few months we have had with my son having Covid, he is now in rehab and doing pretty well, I am exhausted and not feeling very social right now. I am so very thankful though that he is alive and on the road to recovery!!!! Praying he will be home for Christmas and hoping we will all be together then, although that depends on Covid cases. I will also be sewing and relaxing today. Have a great day, and your quilt is going to be beautiful!

  6. Happy Thanksgiving. We’re just having our daughter, son, daughter-in-law and the three grandchildren this year. We just didn’t feel like the big family dinner at my mother-in-law’s this year. There will be a lot of happy hearts receiving your hats and quilts this year. Your generosity is amazing.
