Today marks the 16th anniversary of my blog. It started as a way to track my quilting progress and has become so much more. I want to thank all of you that stop by to visit – many of you have become friends over the years.
My first post on December 28, 2005 is below.
As I enter my 6th year as a quilter, my goals are to use up my stash and complete a number of UFO’s that have accumulated over the last few years. In my first year or two as a quilter I started and finished all my projects. I bought a longarm 3 and 1/2 years ago and now I have unfinished tops and various quilts in progress and they seem to keep piling up.
I quilt only for myself and family members with an occasional quilt made for a friend. 75% of the quilts I make are donated to charititable organizations.
To introduce myself, my name is Mary and I’m married with 2 grown sons. My youngest, Adam just finished a culinary program and is now working for the Ritz Carlton. He moved out of the house in November and I am still getting used to him being gone. Chris, my oldest son, graduated from college last May and is living in Savannah. He just announced his engagement and is getting married in October 2006.
My husband is a Sales Director for a medical company and travels frequently for work. I’m an RN but haven’t worked for the last few years. My charity quilting along with traveling with my husband, and a 4 and 1/2 year old Bichon Frise named Chesty keep me busy.
Congratulations, Mary! I can’t remember when I began following your blog, but it was when you had Chesty. I look forward to following you in 2022.

Mary, I have thoroughly enjoyed following your blog, getting quilting ideas and then crocheting afghans. I have followed your blog for at least 10 years and feel like we could be friends IRL. I haven’t been following you for that long, so it was nice to read your first blog post! I’m glad that I “found” you – you’ve inspired me to try some new things and I’ve tried some of the patterns (both quilting and knitting) that you’ve shared. Looking forward to reading about more of your adventures!

Your blog is one of my favorites. I started following you when you were in Mn. Nice balance of crafts and family. I appreciate that you don’t have ads. I’ve used several of your patterns. I’ve made several of your carpenter star and just finished a stop and go.
I’ve probably been reading your blog most of those years. I had to look up my first real post which was 12/19/2006. Wow how time flies!
Happy Blog Anniversary. The first one of your blogs that I read was when you lived in MN, where I live. I remember that it was winter and you had beautiful pictures if winter. We have winter now. It is still below zero at 10:30 AM. I quilt for myself, family, but most of my quilts are given away. In 2021 eight quilts went to Habitat for Humanity to families who were buying their first home and three quilts went to a nursing program for new babies. I also gave a quilt to a Bible camp for a fundraising auction.
Congratulations on your blog anniversary. You started blogging the same year I took my first quilt class. I enjoy following your blog. You make so many wonderful quilts.

Wow! I had no idea! I’ve only followed you since sometime before your first granddaughter was born. You have put out so much information on quick quilts and charity quilts over the years.
