We don’t usually exchange cards or gifts for Valentine’s but it’s funny because I got Keith a card this year and he got flowers and a card for me. I guess we’re just both feeling a lot of love and gratitude and wanted to express it.
We walked before dinner and took Finn with us. He knows which trail leads to the dog park and insisted on going there to run a bit before we continued our walk.
Both the flowers and the walk helped because I’m feeling sad today. My Aunt died this morning and I’ll miss visiting her with Mom. She lived a long life and had a wonderful family but it’s never easy to lose a loved one.
I haven’t gotten into the sewing room yet although I might go sew a few 16 patch blocks tonight now that Keith has gone to bed but then I’ll knit some more.
I crochet a lot more blankets than I knit but even though I have a scarf on the needles downstairs, I decided to cast on a blanket for my “upstairs” project. I like to sit with some crochet or knitting when we’re watching TV and with the Super Bowl last night, the Olympics, and some hockey still to come this week, there’s a lot to watch. I’m sorry to hear about your aunt – and her age doesn’t lessen the loss. Hoping that good memories will help ease your loss just a bit.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Valentine’s Day is the anniversary of my favorite aunt’s death in 2002. We all miss her still. Hold your memories close. Quilting and knitting are good “therapy.”

I am sorry for the lost of your aunt. It is sometimes harder the older they are because they have been a presence in your life for a longer time. I am sure you and your Mom miss her a lot.

Hi Mary! I am so sorry to hear about your Aunt’s passing. She looks like she was close to your Mom, and it seems that sisters always have/share a special bond. I know I do with mine. Maybe Finn knew you needed a good walk with some fresh air to clear away some of the sadness.
