Swept!

The Lightning swept the Panthers 4 games to 0 and move on to the next round in the playoffs. GO BOLTS!

Earlier in the day, I pieced this small Town Square top … from cutting to finished top just 2 hours and 3 minutes so it’s a quick one. Pattern is from Fabric Cafe but I didn’t add the two narrow borders.

This is the cutest print and the nice big blocks show it off.

Stephanie warned me to be careful with this one … you could easily run short if your fabric isn’t wide enough … I had extra of both the turquoise and the brown so I wasn’t worried but this is what I had left after making the required cuts … there was absolutely no room for error or extra straightening!

I started a new blanket to knit on during the game but set it aside when we had a surprise visit from Chris and the girls. I’m just 15 rows into it but realize that the basketweave is not going to show up very well in the darker blue yarn I’m using so I’m going to start over and do a simple corner to corner knit blanket with this yarn.

  1. Yesterday I picked up one yard cuts of Marvel Comics, Star Wars and Harry Potter for $3 a yard at Walmart to make Three Yard Quilts for some relatives. I dislike the cutting instructions but I follow them because of that little piece of fabric you had left. I will need to make 3 of them considerably bigger but I bought plenty extra and will use solids too. Your quilt turned out nice in such a short time.
