Health issues

Thank you all for your comments and concern. Unfortunately, I’ve had a terrible weekend with a 2nd trip to the ER yesterday and then they called me back today to do an MRI.

There is no definitive diagnosis at this point and no relief from the significant pain but I will be following up with a neurosurgeon as soon as possible.

The pain is too intense to allow me to sew, quilt, or knit so don’t be concerned if you don’t see any posts from me in the next several days as I try to work though this. Thank you.

  1. My thoughts and prayers are with you Mary. Take care of yourself and find yourself a competent physician, one you have faith in and can talk to. One day at a time…and don’t get ahead of yourself. Stay in the present. The future will take care of itself.

  2. I have put you on my prayer list. You concentrate on getting well and your quilty friends, like me, will quilt away for charity as you do.

  3. My MRI gave the MD’s the info needed to figure out what was going on–so take heart–hang in there–my thoughts and prayers are coming your way too…
    hugs, Julierose

  4. Take care of yourself, and don’t worry about your blog. We will be here when you come back to it. Sending gentle hugs and love, and hoping the MRI and neurosurgeon can figure things out to relieve your pain.

  5. Mary, keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Having been thru sciatica I feel your pain. I would go to work and end up spending most of the day laying on my back on the floor. My DH has had back surgery that was very successful and he put off for years. Hoping that your outcome will be successful..xoxoxo!

  6. I hope the neurosurgeon appointment comes through quickly and you get some answers. Thinking of you.

  7. It’s absolute torture when pain escalates and you must be in considerable pain for you to return to the ER. I hope you get some answers, pain management and a plan to resolve the issue very soon.

  8. Feel better soon. Rest , meds, and some tlc will help you to find relief. My mother in law had the same issues years ago. At 90 years old, she opted to have a small procedure and has been pain free every since.

  9. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Hope the MRI helps the doctors find a way to bring you relief soon. Please take care of yourself. We’ll be here when you are able to post again.
(P.S. I hesitated to comment because it usually results in you replying with an email, and right now you don’t need think about doing this.)

  10. I hope you get answers soon and some relief! ThHinking about you and yes, the timing of the holiday weekend wasn’t great!

  11. Dear Mary: So sorry to hear about your back. My husband Terry has had back issues for several years and with all the rain and bad weather his back has been giving him a lot of trouble. He had x rays on Friday and sees his back surgeon on this Friday. He has had back surgery in the past due to an airplane crash! The Dr will probably order an MRI, PT, a series of 3 back injections (if nothing is out of place on the x-rays). Terry uses Heat to his back for 20 minutes, or Blue ice. He tries to use as little advil as possible.
Mary I hope you find out what is causing this and what you can do to regain your usual life style. All the best. It is frustrating when to feed the puppy is painful .All the best as soon as possible. Sincerely Carolyn
