This wasn’t the finish I expected today but I didn’t get into the sewing room before we went off to meet Chris and the girls this afternoon so hopefully I’ll finish assembling the split 9 patch tomorrow between appointments.
This is a variation of the free William Chemo beanie from the Knots of Love site. Last year I made a couple using that pattern and then Stephanie came up with this variation where only the first two pattern rows are repeated. I will also be doing another one this year according to the pattern. These are a little on the small size for a guy but since it’s intended as a beanie for a Chemo patient without hair, I can see where a snugger fit might work better.
The yarn is LionBrand Heartland and while it’s rated as a “4” it’s closer to an Aran weight than Worsted I think. This pattern also makes a nice looking swirl at the top.
And the reason we met Chris and the girls for an early dinner …. So we could attend Mo’s T-ball game.
I’ve forgotten how funny it is to watch kids that young play … no one is paying attention when they’re on the field but Mo got a couple nice hits, scooped up a few balls and her throwing is not bad either. She told me she’s going to be better that Rae!
Boy, they grow fast! It doesn’t seem possible that she is old enough to play t-ball. It is so fun to watch the kids games and I really miss that now that all our grandkids are pretty much on their own. Very nice hat and pattern!
T-ball is so much fun! I remember those days well.
Love this hat, too, in both versions.
Go Mo !
T-ball games are fun to watch. I know Mo loved having you and Keith attend.
