Assembled

This was a quick and easy one to piece, just what I need right now. It’s a variation of our HeartStrings Happy Blocks. My Pink Elephant print was a larger scale so I cut my center squares 6.5 inches. Framing fabrics are cut 2.5 inches and I set the blocks 5 x 6 for a quilt that will finish at 50 x 60 inches.

I’m supposed to do some very, very easy walking which can be a challenge here at the house with all the incline but I’ve found the back deck outside my sewing room works well. It’s even covered which is nice on a rainy day like today.

  2. {{Hugs}} a bunch, Mary! I hope you are healing well and just being kind to yourself. What a bright and fun quilt that will bring someone a whole lot of joy. {{Hugs}} again! ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. Hi Mary, So glad to hear you are coming along nicely and getting some walking in. I love the quilt…I have some elephant fabric that I was going to use for a pillowcase but I think I will make a quillt with it!

  4. Such a pretty bright quilt. I was so happy to see you were able to sew again. Enjoy the walk in the fresh air.

  5. That quilt is adorable. Good luck on your walks. When I broke my ankle in April, it was such a relief to walk outside on my little porch. Our outside is hilly and sandy so it took me awhile. Best wishes for a gentle recovery.

  6. Love your deck! I can imagine sitting out there in the warmer months, treadling, or working on hand work in the shade.
