Strike 3!

I woke up this morning and decided that Hat making season was over and it was time to move on to scarves … I puttered around downstairs looking at my different yarn options and after two failures… with Homespun yarn and Shawl in a Ball, I decided to cast on one of my sock yarn scarves … Be simple variations … I’ve made this one multiple times and always like how it turns out. Unfortunately, I messed up and will have to start over tomorrow. Luckily I hadn’t gotten very far. It was just one of those days!

I also finally made a decision about where to donate the hats, scarves, and a few adult size afghans that have been sitting around here waiting to be donated. I’m going to send them all to Warm up America and pulled a large box and will pack them all up tomorrow.

  1. This past year our knitting group assembled and crocheted together a box of 500 7×9 inch rectangles. We had so much fun with the many different colors and types of knitting and crocheting done by others. Some that we thought would be really ugly, were beautiful! That’s a wonderful place!!

  2. I read about all the places they donate the various crocheted and knitted items, I had no clue they existed. What a wonderful place.

  3. I have been looking for a place to donate baby hats that I make on a hat loom. Thanks so much for sharing this.

  4. Mary, I am so amazed as to your recovery and ability to do so much quilting and crocheting since your surgery. It’s wonderful! Thank you for giving us knitting instructions for Be Simple and it’s variation. I have made a dozen and love wearing them as I live in cold Minnesota. I wear a lot of black and the scarves give me a pop of color. Thank you for all the quilt instructions too! We hope your recovery keeps going well.
