The Lattice quilt is bound. It’s a larger version of my Lattice quilt I saw on Pinterest and followed the link to this tutorial on YouTube. My blocks are a bit smaller than hers but you can use the technique with any size squares.
We had a discussion last year on HeartStrings about using fleece for quilt backs and I bought some on sale at Joann’s at that time … but hadn’t used any. This top was a good fit with one of them.
In the past I’d used fleece just once on the back of a small wheelchair size quilt Mom had made. I didn’t use batting because Mom wanted it to be lightweight but warm. I’m not sure why I never used fleece again but I’ve got 2 more pieces here so I will at least use them. I did use a lightweight batting in this one and I’m happy with the results.
Lovely quilt, I have used just fleece on backs of baby floor quilts. Makes them easier for busy mums to wash.

Very pretty! There are a couple of ladies in guild who make scrappy lattice quilts, and the block sizes vary based on what they have. Sometime they use layer cake size and other times the blocks are smaller. You’re right – they all work. The fleece makes for a cozy quilt, but I hate how it sheds before binding.
Love this quilt. I’ve never used anything except cotton for my backing but I have several pieces of minky I need to try. I also wanted to try fleece as it’s so easy to buy at thrift stores. Guess I’ll try it. Your quilt is very pretty.
A wonderful finish! I’ve never thought about using fleece on the back of quilts, but it looks great on this lattice quilt.
Children seem to.Ike a fleece backing. I do a lot of quilts for Project Linus and put fleece on the back.
The bright colors are so cheerful and the lattice design is simple but effective.

Thanks for sharing re fleece for backing. I’ve never used it but have wondered about it (there are so many neat prints!). I’ll have to give it a try now.
I’d be concerned if the recipient smoked. Fleece I understand burns FAST and HOT. Many are now using minkie for backing and I’d be concerned about that too.
