This and that

I lost most of today running around … not much about this month has gone as planned work wise in the sewing room and the rest of the month is looking rather busy too but I did get a few things done.

Yesterday I finished the top I started Monday … not going to show it just yet but soon …

I spent a couple hours today working on the crochet blanket. Since the Lightning got knocked out of the playoffs in the first round I haven’t made time for it. I’m nearing the end of the 3rd skein and there will be at least 1/2 of the 4th skein used … so some progress there.

Since I finished the top that was on my must do list before our trip … I printed another bear pattern … enlarged it … made a template … and cut it out. I hope to find time tomorrow to get it sewn.

And it just so happened that I made a mistake when cutting and sewing HST blocks for the top I finished yesterday and had to remake some … and guess what? There just so happens to be enough of the “wrong” blocks for a doll quilt. I should be able to get this sewn together tomorrow too.

And finally, I got out for a couple walks at the Meadows today … on the second walk, Keith was the one who spotted the deer grazing among the flowers!

  1. Sounds like a productive day to me! But I know how frustrating it can be when it doesn’t go how you’d pictured it. Tomorrow!

  2. Great picture of the deer, better in person. You sure accomplish quite a lot, you have so much energy. Awesome skills.😊

  3. Some days are just like that. I tend to put off my errands, and then end up wasting a whole day running around town. That afghan pattern has such great texture. I have a few orphan blocks in a drawer that may find new life as doll quilts. I did make one new doll quilt yesterday out of some pieces I found that were left over from an old project.

  4. It’s fun to make discoveries like the deer in the field of flowers and like the “mistake” that will make a nice doll quilt.
