Entertaining myself

As I said yesterday, I have no trouble entertaining myself while Keith is working!

Copenhagen is a wonderful walking city and I wandered all over today. I’ll have to look up some of these monuments but no visit to Copenhagen is complete without seeing the Little Mermaid!

One of my favorite things when traveling is to visit churches. The denomination doesn’t matter to me, I just like to sit in quiet contemplation and prayer. At the Catholic cathedral, I spoke with a woman who gifted me a beautiful rosary created by the nuns. As we spoke we were astonished to find out we shared the same name. She was Dominica Maria Theresa … and I am Mary Teresa!

St Alban’s was a beautiful historic church that I spied in the distance on my walk and was pleased to see it was open and welcoming to visitors.

As evening approached I wandered up and down the Nyhavn canal. I sat outside with my book and sipped a glass of wine, wandered about a bit more, speaking with an artist painting watercolors and purchasing a couple small ones to frame as a memento of my trip, and ending up at a quiet “library” like area of the hotel lobby with a coffee and my book to keep me company.

As I was heading back to the room to wait for Keith, my suitcase finally arrived! When Keith gets back after his dinner, we’ll wander out and have a nightcap.

  1. I’m really restricted in my ability to travel overseas, so I’ll have to live vicariously through your travels. Thanks for the beautiful pictures – especially St. Albans. What a gorgeous building!

  2. It looks like a beautiful place to visit. I would be happy to entertain myself too! The artist’s work looks lovely with beautiful colors. Hope the rest of your trip goes well.

  3. Your day sounds idyllic. How’s the weather? It doesn’t look warm, but it seems you were outside much of the day. The lobby nook looks so inviting! Just the sort of spot I would look for. I’m glad your bag didn’t take too long to catch up with you! Your pictures are great and I look forward to seeing more during your visit.
