This is one of the 24 block HeartStrings group tops sent to me by Sue. I’m adding borders to some of them to make them a little larger. Nothing fancy, just searching the stash for a complimentary fabric and cutting a 6.5 inch border. That brings these quilts up to 48 x 66 inches which is a nice lap size. I think this border really complements the string blocks.

In addition to finishing the 16 patch top and adding these borders, I also pieced a backing for another top and pulled a couple more fabrics from stash to add borders to two more of the group quilts. I even got my walk in. It was a good day and now I’m going to relax and crochet a bit while I listen to my audiobook.
I also got a walk in today! Like the quilt.
Can a pieced backing have partly LOF and partly WOF sections? Or is it better to have all of one, or all of the other? Any downside to mixing?
I agree, the border really works great with the string blocks. I also think that your 16-patch is NOT boring at all!
Beautiful quilt with beautiful border!
For some reason, this particular String quilt really appeals to me. I love all of them but this one is extra special.
