One more finish

Leftovers from the Smokey Mountain quilt became this little quilt which will be donated with a bear … how appropriate.

I know some people might think it’s silly to take time to hand quilt a “bear” quilt that will be tossed around by a kid but in my book it it’s a win win … I get a small manageable project that allows me to hand quilt which I love doing but am usually too busy with other projects to take on a larger project.

  1. NO, it is NOT silly. I have a hand quilted doll quilt that was my mother’s – probably from the 1920s. I treasure it. Besides, it is good practice. I love your donation quilts and bears.

  2. It’s your time and effort and it sure isn’t silly to some little child. I think it’s a great thing you are doing. Sure wish I was younger and could do half/fourth of what you do.

  3. It’s not “silly” in the least. It brings you joy & a child gets a lovely gift, so it’s a win-win.

  4. I think it’s a GREAT idea to do a doll (or bear) quilt with a bear. I wish I would have thought of it. I would like to try making a bear. Keep up the good work. Blessings. Diane

  5. Love the logic. I take hand quilting projects on long road trips. I have done 3 baby quilts over time.
