We visited the Victoria Mansion in Portland today and had a private tour and a public tour of the house. Keith’s great grandfather was a coachman there and I’d been contacted by Michelle through Ancestry. What a thrill it was to visit the mansion.

Afterwards we had an early dinner at DiMillo’s. Those maple glazed, bacon wrapped scallops are SOOO yummy!

And when we got home we walked Finn up to the bluff! What a great day we had!

What a spectacular mansion that is! I would have enjoyed all those activities too.
Sounds like you had a very interesting day. Such a beautiful mansion.
What a lovely day Mary. The mansion is beautiful, and dinner sounds delicious.
What a beautiful place! So cool that Keith’s family had a connection to it!
I marvel at the mansions from that era – such opulence. For Keith to have a connection to the house would put the tour in a whole different light. I’m thrilled that you were able to have a private tour.
So glad you day was wonderful! Hope you continue to have a fabulous time.
That is so cool!
OK, which Portland? Oregon or in another state?
