Did you have a quilty day? I was able to spend some time in the sewing room this afternoon working on binding and I started assembling the twisted pinwheel top. I hope to finish that up this week. Now I’m going to settle in my chair and hand stitch a binding.
I also started looking at and pulling some potential fabric groups for several 3 yard quilts. My HeartStrings group is going to work on some for donation over the next few months and the timing is perfect because most of my kids quilts have been finished and donated recently and I have none in the pipeline. Many of us will be using patterns from Fabric Cafe AND my Quick Strippie qualifies too so you know I’ll end up making a few of those too. I think my first one will probably be made according to the Town Square pattern – Stephanie has made several of them and they turn out cute.
While I was pulling fabric I looked for some yardage that might work for another Walk and Stop quilt. I’d already set aside a fat quarter bundle and I can’t decide if a light background will work for me. I had given Mom one of the Connecting Thread kits and hers had a light background so I went back and searched on the blog, knowing I had a photo from when I quilted it for her. Don’t get confused if you see me call these Stop and Go quilts – for some reason, that’s the name that sticks in my head.
Her background is more patterned than the gray I was thinking about using so I might need to think about it and look some more through my stash.
At any rate I’m not ready to start anything yet – I’ve got 2 more to quilt and 3 to bind to finish up my quilting marathon and I have to finish that twisted Pinwheel top too!
