You know I listen to audiobooks at night when I’m knitting, crocheting, or hand stitching bindings … I just finished one I loved. History is my favorite but I also love mysteries and travel stories too. Tonight, I finished Caleb’s Crossing and enjoyed it as much as any book I can remember in long while. I’m going to listen to another one by the same author and I’m hoping it will be just as good.
I can’t remember how I came across this book and thought it might have been on Vicki’s site but it did not come up when I did a search. She does wonderful in-depth reviews of the audiobooks she listens to and it’s well worth the time to read her reviews. I did a quick search of those posts and came up with a list of them so I’ll share that here – Audiobook Reviews.
I didn’t get much done in the sewing room today but I did pin baste the doll quilt and hope to get that quilted tomorrow. I also took Mom for her Flu shot. Keith and I had intended to get one too and we’d made appointments at CVS for all 3 of us but those were canceled this morning without much of an explanation. I was able to get Mom another appointment at Walgreen’s so she’s all done and Keith and I will get ours in the next couple weeks.
We stopped by the postal facility on the way back to the house and I found a box of six HeartStrings tops sent to me by Sue. She’s the coordinator in the US that receives blocks for HeartStrings and gets them assembled – her Mom helps – and she needed some volunteers to help quilt them. I’m planning a big push after my Mom leaves and continuing through the end of November and am hoping to get 20+ tops quilted. It’s an ambitious goal for me but I want to end the year strong. There will be some HeartStrings tops quilted, some of Mom’s tops quilted, and some of mine. Sue also sent 3 backs and I’m lucky to still have some backs here pieced and donated by Tish for our group quilts so I’m all set for backings on those, I have backing bins here to go through for mine and Mom’s and since Mom contributed to the backing and batting kitty … I ordered some extra backing fabrics too. If I’m successful with my goal … 20+ quilts will take a lot of fabric to back!
