Bathroom remodel

It’s officially done although we haven’t moved back up and used it yet. I did snap a few photos. We’re not fancy people and you might remember the photo I shared of the tile … it’s neutral.

The master bathroom is basically 4 sections … you walk into the sink area from the bedroom. We did not replace the vanity – it has a rustic feel that I like and it’s functional for me.

The new sinks are under-mounted which I like a lot better than the ones that were part of the old countertop.

From this area, the closet is to the left and the toilet is to the right tucked away.

Just past the toilet area, is probably the biggest change, there was a very narrow entry to the shower and the shower had a lot of wasted space. We widened the doorway and now you step to the left into the shower.

There’s a bench that runs the length of the shower. The shower head is adjustable and yes, that’s a grab bar. We debated whether to add them or not but with my balance issues it just makes sense.

The other upstairs bathroom is a more open space … there’s just a single sink but I like the extra counter space when we have guests and they can spread all their stuff out. We kept the vanity in here too but will change out those drawer and cabinet pulls and might eventually have it stained a darker color. We’ll see what we think once we’ve been using it for a while.

There was a shower tub combination in this bathroom but we took it out and enlarged the shower area. We’re still debating whether we’ll put shower doors in or just use a curtain. We’re going to try it with a curtain first and then decide.

This one has a corner bench and we went ahead and put a vertical grab bar in it too. That grout on the floor isn’t that dark … they’d just cleaned the shower and it wasn’t dry when I snapped the photo.

Like I said, not fancy but it’s simple style goes with the house and I know we’re going to love the updated spaces. And one of my favorite features … we had them put a small wall heater in my bathroom. I hate having to shower and get ready in a cold bathroom!
