Safe Path

What an amazing opportunity I had today to tour Safe Path, an organization I’ve been donating quilts and blankets to for 10 years and within the last couple, the critters and little quilts.

They made me feel so special but really, they’re the special ones with the challenging jobs! I can only imagine the difference they’ve made in the lives of children going through such difficult times.

They shared just how much they love the Little Quilts and Critters and how special they are to the kids.

I shared a couple photos with them … first, my inspiration for making little quilts started with Rae using all her blankets and quilts to put her dolls and stuffed animals to bed all those years ago!

And since Mom couldn’t be with me for the tour, I wanted to share that she also has worked hard on making these little quilts for donation the last year and a half. It’s a project we love working on together.

They were thrilled to see both photos.

I shared that recently my HeartStrings group had a special project and that we’d received donations of little quilts and tops and that was one reason I had more to donate in the last few months.

They also had gifts for me … so unexpected but so sweet. That card in the middle was the same size as the framed picture … and had thank you notes from all the staff inside.

It was an amazing day and while Chris was with me, he was the one volunteering when they asked for photos! I did snap one of him at lunch afterwards. He was the one who first asked me about donating to Safe Path all those years ago and between him and Becky, they’ve been the ones to deliver all the donations until today.
