Site icon Making Scrap Quilts from Stash

Assembled

Got downstairs for a little while today and finished assembling the Rainbow HeartStrings top. These blocks were made last year … along with 2 other sets that are still waiting for assembly.

One of the reason I put it off so long was that I hadn’t cut the 2.5 inch squares for the cornerstones while I was piecing the blocks … luckily the bright idea of grabbing the leftover binding bins worked out well.

These strips were already 2.5 inches which made it quick to cut a few squares from them and there are extras for the other two sets.

I used to use those leftover pieces to make scrappy bindings for group HeartStrings quilts but then I got lazy and just started cutting bindings from stash. Now these get used in my strips and strings quilts but as you see I don’t use them as fast as I generate them!

I also started tossing the RWB rectangle blocks up on the design wall.
