Hiking and Sewing

I managed to fit in two of my favorite things today… first on the way home from my radiation treatment I felt the need to be among the trees! Our peak season for fall colors is typically the last week of October to the first week of November and it’s getting mighty pretty around here.

When I got home … I snapped a photo of the trees lining our driveway! I just love Autumn!

And then tonight after Keith and Finn went to bed I went downstairs and sewed a while. All the HST blocks for the Easy Flock of Geese are now done.

  1. I agree. Autumn colors are just wonderful. I’m busy every day raking up the maple leaves. It’s kind of therapeutic. I like the colors in this quilt, too. Color: bring it on!

  2. I can see why you wanted to take in the fall colors. Taking in nature is a helpful reset after time in a medical environment. It’s been a beautiful autumn season here in Minnesota as well. Such vibrant colors in the trees and now on the ground! Time to rake leaves. 🍁

  3. Sounds like a great day. I am glad you were able to get some sewing in. The quilt is vibrant!

  4. Our peak autumn colors are a bit late this year, but that’s OK. We’re enjoying the color too. I’m so glad you felt up to a short hike. Hope your radiation treatments go smoothly.

  5. Someone will be giggly happy with that quilt. We are seeing some great colors where we are in leaves and the reflections.. hope you get to hike more this week.

  6. Fall is my favorite season because of the fall color and cooler and drier days. I love inhaling the smell from kicking up leaves walking along a dirt path winding through a woods—so refreshing and therapeutic.

  7. It sounds that we can enjoy some golden October days everywhere. Weather was yesterday so sunny and wonderfull that I need to take off from job and bike around.
If workload is big, or like you.. after that appointment you have to manage… it is so healing to be in (at?) the nature. This day was for you … with sun and the fall colours. As a goody for the thing you must go through. I feel with every blog notice with you!
Are we all crazy, when family is sleeping we go to our sewing machines?
You did again a big quilt. Thanks for sharing these fotos.
