I love having a big board for pressing. It’s nice to lay out blocks too.
I wasn’t in love with my Babylock Jane when I first got it but now I am and it’s nice to have both machines set up in the sewing room. I tend to do more piecing on the Elna but a quilt with nothing but half square triangles will have some bulky seams and the Jane handles bulk much better than the Elna does.
Having good tools makes quilting more enjoyable!
I have two machines set up in my studio, too. Well, THREE, if you count the longarm!!! LOL
Love what you are working on. I also love that you feel like working on anything. Let Keith and Finn spoil you rotten for a while longer.
I love my large pressing board, too. It’s helpful, but unfortunately it also becomes a place to pile fabric, patterns, and ironing. I have two machines, but one is only for travel/retreats. I’m glad you’re feeling up to doing a bit of stitching.
Huh. I always associate “Baby Lock” with sergers. Surprising to see it’s a sewing machine!
I have ironing board envy right now, lusting after that big board and the space to set it up!
Machines set up in my sewing room: Brother Nouvelle 1500 (straight stitch for piecing), Janome Jem (zigzags), Viking Platinum 16 (deep-throat for FMQ), Singer Futura (embroidery). The Brother serger is sitting at one end of the sewing table, but not really set up. Just taking up space (I resort to the dining room table when I need to use that one). In this little 10’x13′ room, it’s no wonder I have no room for a large ironing board!
I’ll tell you what: your Jane is a dead ringer for my Brother 1500! Those ARE sweet machines.
And look at how neat your sewing room looks! I use my Singer 201 exclusively, but then I don’t machine quilt so don’t need a heavier duty machine.
