More RWB

I appreciate all the comments and emails wishing me a speedy recovery. I’m struggling more than I did with the first surgery but hoping each day brings me a little closer to normal. Usually I try to respond to all the comments individually but I’m afraid I don’t have the energy right now …. however it means a lot to me that you’ve taken the time to wish me well.

I worked a little while on the RWB half square triangles today and nothing new to show on that quilt … but I did add some pressing directions to the brief instructions I have on the website. RWB Half Square Triangles.

I also found another vintage RWB quilt on eBay that is similar to the vintage one I’m recreating but it uses half rectangles and I even have a half rectangle die. I’m going to save this one here for future inspiration!

  1. As a nurse you probably told lots of patients that healing takes time. Researching these beautiful vintage designs is a perfect activity to keep your mind working while your body rests and heals. The half rectangles are beautiful in all of that scrappy glory.

  2. Mary you are in my thoughts and have been. My daughters very close friend died last week and we are a little out of sorts. I hope the rest of your recovery goes smoothly.

  3. After surgery, especially thyroid surgery, you will find a ”new normal”. Shifting gears to suit your energy level is very important. You will regain your strength and stamina in the weeks to come. Keep focusing on yourself, and everything else will fall into place when the time is right. Sunshine and Smiles, D. Weeks

  4. No one in their right mind wants or needs you to take time to individually respond. I personally am just happy when you feel up to putting a post out there saying things are okay. Take the time you need and take care of yourself. You are going through a lot of changes and everyone reacts differently to this stuff. Multiple friends and multiple different recovery paths. I would love to see a small impact and quick recovery for you, but no one I know thus far has gotten out of the recovery without and extended period of weariness. Hope you are the first!

  5. Take your time and do what the Doctor tells you to. Your recovery and health are first priority. Love seeing and being inspired by your quilts.

  6. Thinking of your and wishing you the best in your recovery… Just take the time you need to get
back on your feet… Enjoy all the ideas you share and love seeing your quilts…

  7. So happy to see a comment or two from you. Sure not expecting any individual notes from you. Will be content to know you are resting and following doctor’s orders so you can be back to normal soon. Wishing the very best for you.
