On my needles

I spent most of the day catching up after having the girls here … running errands, taking a quick walk, making phone calls, going to the post office, gathering some tax documents, and I loaded a top on the longarm that I’ll hopefully get quilted tonight after Keith goes to bed.

When we got back from taking the girls home last night, I started a new scarf. It’s a pattern I purchased several years ago on Ravelry but never got around to making and I found some brown DK weight yarn in the scarf yarn bin that is working well with the pattern. This is scarf #6 since the beginning of the year so you may have noticed I’m on a bit of a scarf kick right now. I know some people find them boring to knit but on sleepless nights, I love sitting here working on fairly simple patterns and listening to my audiobook.

  • Pattern – Skye, found on Ravelry
  • Needle size – 6
  • Yarn – Wollmeise DK
  • The pattern called for worsted weight yarn so I cast on extra stitches. Cast on 48 stitches which is working up to an 8.5 inch wide scarf in my DK yarn.

One of my errands this afternoon was taking Finn for grooming. Such a handsome boy and ready for me to sit down and knit so he can sit with me!

  1. The scarf has a beautiful texture and the color really let’s that texture be the star. Great choice! Finn does look handsome after his grooming.

  2. Finn really did lighten up! I didn’t realize it until you posted the photo earlier of when you first got him.

  3. I hand piece, EPP, or knit while I’m listening to an audiobook. Great way to relax. One of my recent favorites is Lisa Gardner’s “One Step Too Far”, a mystery/wilderness novel.
