Kind of beige/brown

I had things I could have been doing to get ready to quilt next week but it’s my birthday so I “allowed” myself to start a new quilt. I’d found a set of fat quarters and yardage I’d kitted up last January and I decided it was time to use them.

Several years ago I bought a kit at Connecting Threads called Stop and Walk … it’s no longer available but I used the same blocks for this one. A framed square and rail fence blocks.

I got all the blocks made and even got the top assembled! It might be too beige/brown for some people but I like it.

The quilt doesn’t use a lot of the fat quarters so I’ll be adding in some golds and making a second quilt. Probably a 16 patch but I haven’t decided for sure.

  1. Happy Birthday Mary! It’s ‘Chers birthday also. Funny thing- I was just cutting some homespuns and black to make the same stop and walk pattern.

  2. Happy Birthday, Mary! I hope your day is full of all the things (and people) that make you happy-

  3. I love it! P. S: I literally just this afternoon found 2 sets of brown FQs (& border/binding fabric to go with both of them) this afternoon so I guess it’s true… GMTA indeed!

  4. I love it!
Happy birthday, and well done you, getting your first FQ top for June done already Wow!

  5. Happy birthday! You treated yourself in one of my favorite ways. Piecing is so comforting, isn’t it?

  6. Happy Birthday! I hope you celebrate for a week by doing all the things you like best.

  7. Happy belated birthday, Mary. Hope it was a good one with lots of people you love around you.
