Finished

This is one of the tops sent to me by Linda to finish and donate. I got it bound tonight and it’s #5 for August. I’m hoping to get another top quilted tomorrow.

EDIT: Since so many of you like this one I thought I’d include some measurements. It’s one I might just get around to making too!

The quilt as pieced is 70 x 70 – I’d make a 50 x 70 version with blocks set 5 x 7.

The large blocks are cut 10.5 inches

The white rails are cut 2.5 x 10.5 inches

The small squares are cut 2.5 inches.

In my smaller version, I’ll leave out the 25 patch blocks at the top and bottom and just replace them with large squares.

  1. I used to think I had plenty of ideas of quilts to make. Now that I’ve been following you- ooooo the list is endless! This is a great one to use up 2.5 inch squares.
    Thanks! Kathy

  2. I love it…Pretty simple, but very attractive. Bright and clean looking. Thank You for all you do. It is always inspiring.

  3. WOW, I love this one. I was going to ask if there is a pattern then realized it’s not one of yours.

  4. Oh my – that is really cute!! Simple but clever design and sure makes the fun fabrics the star of the show.

  5. Cut: 2.5” SQU; 2.5” x 10.5” STP; & 10.5” SQU to finish at 10” blocks.
Or use strip sets of five to equal 5 SQU?

    • Thank you, Laura for the measurements for this bright, scrappy quilt. I love all the fabrics you used. And thanks, Mary for sharing the end result.

      • It’s not my quilt. I was just guessing at the cut pieces. I apologize that I didn’t say that.

  6. Thiis is just perfect. Our quild guild has just starting making some quilts for Sleep In heavenly Peach and this will be a wonderful one to make for a younger male child.
    Thanks for the measurements.

  7. Hi there, just want to make sure I give credit where credit is due. The pattern is called picket fence from Busy Hands Quilts website and etsy shop, with many more fun patterns available.
Thank you to all that contribute. I am so enjoying seeing these quilts finished.
