After running errands all afternoon, I headed downstairs to the sewing room. I’d intended to jump right in with a set of Strips and Strings Log Cabin blocks but I’d forgotten about the 2nd stocking for Gus waiting on my sewing table so I put that together first.
You might wonder why the dog needs 2 stockings … we celebrate Christmas Eve with Chris and his family here at Big Canoe and hang stockings for them all. Couldn’t leave Gus out.

I did get a start on the Log Cabin blocks …

It’s always so messy when I dig into the strings but I’m trying out some small stackable bins to keep these shorter strips organized for faster sewing … we’ll see how that works.

And I started a blanket – Just a simple ripple but I needed an upstairs project to work on while I watch hockey games. Go Bolts!

Good idea on the stacking bins, Mary! You’ll have to let us know how that works for you.
I have several of the same stacking bins and love them. Since I make mostly patriotic quilts, I separate my scraps in the appropriate colored bin.
You ate back in the swing of things! Love the colors in the blanket. Of course Gus needs a stocking at your house and it is just like his other one.
Looking forward to your “review” of the stackable bins. Are they doing well for you?
Love to see your sewing room. And you do so clever to have several bins with different length of strips. Your machine keeps my attention .. could you please answer what your machine is? thanks in advance
