I don’t work with many templates … the bears are the only ones I’ve worked with in years but I’m working on a project with them today. I won’t show it for a few weeks but so far I’m happy with how it’s turning out.
That stack of batiks in the background are for the Plus 3 quilt which is coming along nicely. This one should be big enough for the guild to donate to the local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace – they make beds for kids.
I’m settling down now to stitch a binding … hopefully I’ll get it finished before heading to bed.

Our local Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapter closed last year. I haven’t heard any details, but a number of our guild members are at a loss as to what to make next. They really enjoyed making Bunk Bed quilts for the kids!
I just looked up this organization. I’m surprised that our guild doesn’t talk about it. What a nice opportunity to help kids. I’m sure I can find some quilts in my cupboard to give our local chapter. No point in just storing them.
Sleep In Heavenly Peace is a terrific organization. Our local chapter spoke to our guild and to several church quilting groups. That’s where all my doll blankets and stuffed animals went before Christmas, along with a dozen pillowcases. The Plus 3 quilt will be perfect for that. I’m actually making one of my scrappy quilt tops from last year bigger so I can donate it to them once it’s done.
I really like the plus quilts. I need to do one of those as a veterans quilt.
