Fleece Blanket

Mom saw the fleece dino blanket I made for Mo for Christmas and decided she wanted one.

Joann’s sells the “no sew” fleece kits but I quilted the two layers of Mo’s blanket and then did a hand stitched blanket stitch around the edge.

Mom and I were talking on the phone when she said she’d like one too so I sent her an online link to Joann’s and we looked through what they had and this was the kit she chose. (I only use the kits that say the fleece is anti-pill)

We were supposed to have our family exchange a week ago but we had to delay it for a month …. since I finished up Mom’s blanket, I gave it to her today so I can share it here now.

On this one, I decided to try a binding rather than the blanket stitch edge and I finished it up on Friday before we headed back up here to Virginia on Saturday. I really like how it turned out.

I load these on the longarm and make sure I don’t stretch them … I choose a big open pattern at a larger scale than I would do on a quilt. The pantograph on this one is called FreeStyle.

Mom was really happy with how it turned out and sat all tucked up under it during our visit today.

  2. It is lovely. Isn’t it great when it is the perfect gift? How is Mom doing? I include her in my nightly prayers.
