Sprain or fracture?

I had a fall yesterday and injured my ankle again …they don’t have an Orthopedic walk in center here but I was seen in the urgent care center. They didn’t see any obvious fractures but my ankle is a bit of a mess due to previous ones (4) so they splinted it and referred me to an Orthopedic doctor.

Keith changed his plans and is flying in this afternoon and bringing my boot … it hurts to walk on it even in the air brace they put on it so the boot will keep me more mobile for now.

We were missing each other a lot anyway so this might actually be worth it not to be apart for another 2 weeks 🙂

And lucky for him he got to see Chris, Becky, and the girls for dinner last night. Chris’ house is closer to the airport so he spent the night there. Chris was nice enough to pick him up at home so he doesn’t have to leave his truck at the airport for two weeks!

I just have 3 more blocks to sew for my Framed 9 patch quilt but I know I can use my left foot for that once I get my boot!

  1. OY. I’m sorry this happened, especially now, but it does seem you have things in hand. Good thing Keith can be flexible. Will you be able to drive with the boot on?

  2. You poor thing. That ankle has given you nothing but trouble. Hopefully it’s just a sprain and having the boot will help.

  3. Crap! You and that ankle. Bless Keith for bringing the boot and hangin’ out with you for the weekend.

  4. I know how difficult it is to walk when one of our precious bones isn’t right. Hope the boot helps you and you recover quickly.

  5. Wonky ankles are the worst, deepest sympathy! And the damp weather probably isn’t helping, assuming you are getting that out to the west like we are here on the coast.

  6. You radio silence was worrisome and actually well justified. Take care of yourself. I am so glad you and Keith will get to see each other.

  7. I’m so sorry about your ankle, Mary. So troubling that you fall so often. Finn and Keith will be your errand boys until you are able to get around. Where were you when you fell? The boys will worry about you when you’re out of sight.

  8. I’ve been off line, so I missed this post. Sorry to hear your ankle is injured again, but glad Keith was able to bring the boot with him. Take care.
