Walking

Now that my ankle is better I need to get back to my walking but it’s kind of hard to get motivated especially with my surgery coming up in a few weeks. Keith is encouraging me and I can do some easy laps around the apartment complex here and today we went to an arboretum – it was hot as heck BUT the trees provided some nice shade.

We’ll definitely go back there and I bet it’s gorgeous in the fall!

  1. All the best for the up-coming op. 96F, too hot. I’m in Colorado and we had a blessed 84F yesterday with no A/C needed, same again today. Such a relief from those 90 something days though it looks like we shall be back tomorrow. Happy to hear that your mother has improved some.

  2. Come on Nurse Mary, you know that those steps you are taking before surgery will let your body heal. No excuses. Oh wait I am the queen of excuses! Even if it is nowhere near your past levels it will help.

  3. Oh my, that’s hot. Our humidity is terrible here, like stepping into a hot bath. Enjoy your walks Mary.

  4. Good on ya! Keep racking up those recovery points–we’re all rooting for you to pull through surgery with flying colors!

  5. Glad you are able to enjoy some walks again. I began walking again finally just 2 weeks ago. But not nearly as pretty surroundings as the arboretum must have been.

  6. I totally get it! I walked a lot more last year, prepping for a visit to Ireland, and am not doing as much. Tomorrow begins a small effort to walk more steps each day. The arboretum looks like a delightful place to walk and hopefully the shade helps in that heat.

  7. You’re a bigger woman than me, Mary! Lol I have been hiding out in the house since it’s been in the 90s, and wouldn’t think of going hiking. I only venture out to water my flowers, usually after 7 PM. But I am getting lots of sewing done!!

  8. You will be glad you are exercising now in anticipation of your surgery. It will be awhile before you are back into the trails. Beautiful trails!
