Wildlife

I did some laps on the back deck this afternoon – it runs most of the length of the house and when I need to move around a bit, it works.

I’d noticed a deer sitting in the yard when I was in the sewing room and she sat right there while I did my laps. I thought for sure she’d run away when I opened the back door but she didn’t.

Later in the afternoon Finn started barking … Keith told me that there had been a bear out front so I checked the cameras and yep, he’d been in the back yard too – the deer had left by then. And no, he didn’t get that food container top from our yard. We have no outside trash here but maybe he visited a neighbor’s garage … we notice they leave theirs open sometimes. Not something I’d do with all the wildlife around here!

  1. Wow Mary! You are really getting back in the groove. Glad you are able to.
I like the color of the rectangle quilt binding, the hat is a pretty shade of blue and the blue quilt’s colors are so calming and soothing.
Hope most of your pain/discomfort is going away.

  2. Your back porch looks so nice, and big! Glad you are keeping your body moving as it sure helps keeping your insides moving. You’re doing good at keeping your hands busy and turning out some beautiful work.

  3. This bear looks like one you showed before, a young one. Cute. Glad you’re doing some walking. You don’t want to get too out of shape. Plus it helps healing. Sending my best…..

  4. I live in Illinois, a St Louis suburb, and we have a huge black bear running around here. Everyone is so excited about it. I am not. I worked at a hospital and they brought in a victim of a bear attack and she had 86 stitches on the outside of her face. So many more stitches elsewhere. Be careful.

  5. One advantage of having a lovely porch like that, it is all level ground! No rocks or potholes!
